A warm climate region in sunny south Australia, McLaren Vale is a place of dramatic landscape and daring viticulture. Bordered by breathtaking coastlines to the west and the Mount Lofty Ranges to the east, it’s an internationally renowned region for its winemaking excellence and adventurous spirit. We’ve built a network of talented winemakers across McLaren Vale over the decades, but for this special project we’ve chosen Andréa Maxwell. Born and raised in South Africa and with a degree in Viticulture & Oenology from the University of Stellenbosch under her belt, Andréa combines her travels, knowledge and passion to create wines that are true to her. We’re so grateful to have secured two exclusive plots in her vineyards that enable us to create our own wines inspired by hers.
Munzy McLaren Vale Old Vine Grenache 2023
This wine hails from an ancient bush-vine Grenache vineyard nestled in McLaren Vale, planted on sandy soils. It exhibits classic delicate red fruit aromas, with hints of cherry and raspberry lifting from the glass. The palate is bright, focused and richly concentrated. Juicy, crisp fruit flavours dominate the forefront, balanced harmoniously with deeper tones and lingering spiciness. This wine strikes a delicate balance between approachable drinkability and profound complexity.

Pedder McLaren Vale Old Vine Shiraz 2023
This wine is from a very old Shiraz vineyard situated on the foothills of Willunga, facing the sea. The warm days and cool night-time sea breeze concentrate the flavours, resulting in a complex, structured wine. Expect a dark, brooding and dense nose with plum and dark cherry, complemented by spice, liquorice and cedar. The palate is incredibly tight with soft, powdery tannins, giving balance and finesse to the structure.
