Delivery FAQs

Last orders for Christmas: If you ordered from our limited selection of cases for Christmas delivery, before midnight on Friday 20th December, your order will be delivered in time for Christmas. Orders placed after that will arrive in time for New Year's Eve.

Out-of-areas Christmas cut off: For out-of-area postcodes, the last order date for guaranteed Christmas delivery is 4pm on 19th December.

Below is essential delivery information to answer any of your queries. And if there's any questions still floating about unanswered, just give us a call.

Delivery Information

Delivery is charged at £7.99 per wine order to a single address, £4.99 if the order contains a spirit or beer product or £4.99 per gift product. Spending over £150 in single order bags you free delivery. With our Named Day delivery service you are able to select any of the shown available days for delivery for £2 extra.

We deliver anywhere in the UK, including NI, Highlands, Scottish Islands, the Isle of Man and the Scilly Isles.

If you don't live in the UK then why not send a gift to friends or relatives that do - we accept non-UK credit cards.

With our Named Day delivery service, we'll deliver WHEN you want!

Our courier delivers Monday to Friday, between 8am and 6pm. During the festive period our couriers may deliver up to 8pm.

Outside of our Named Day service, the following applies:

Orders placed before 4pm on Monday to Friday will be delivered the next working day. (If you live in the Highlands or Islands, this may take a little longer).

Orders placed after 4pm on Friday and over the weekend will be delivered the following Tuesday. (If you live in the Highlands or Islands, this may take a little longer).

Saturday delivery is available on request. To arrange a Saturday delivery the order MUST be placed by phone. Call us and we'll place the order for you. Saturday deliveries are available between 7.30am and midday.

Generally, we recommend allowing up to 3-5 working days for your order to arrive. Due to the general vagaries of business (the odd out of stock wine, courier issues, blizzards, ducks crossing etc.) we can't guarantee 100% that every case will arrive the next day, but you can always be assured that it's well on its way.

Most of our customers give us instructions to leave the wine in a safe place, as this is by far the easiest way to ensure you get your wine on time. If it gets stolen, we will replace it at no additional cost.

Yes you can. If you've got more than one case of wine in your basket, you'll be able to tick the 'Deliver these items to multiple addresses' button on the checkout page. This will then display each of your purchases on separate lines, allowing you to select a delivery address for each particular case.

Our delivery is £7.99 per wine order to a single address, £4.99 if the order contains a spirit or beer product or £4.99 per gift product. Orders over £150 going to the same address are delivered for free.

Just imagine, you could send all of your Christmas presents directly from our warehouse, to some lucky so-and-so's front doorstep, by just entering a few addresses. Super convenient.

Our delivery couriers are DHL and Yodel.

When you place an order you can let us know what you want our drivers to do if you are not in. This is the easiest way to ensure you get your wine on time! We guarantee there is an option to suit you - such as nominating a safe place to leave the wine on your property, (like a greenhouse or coalbunker) asking a neighbour to take delivery (make sure you can trust them with your wine!) or request the driver to select the safest place to deposit your wine. And if it is stolen? We will replace the lot.

Everything is explained on the card that has been left by the driver.

To rearrange delivery, please visit track.dhlparcel.co.uk and follow the instructions. You'll need a valid Shipment or card number. The shipment number is the number allocated to your parcel and is typically 14 numerical digits. If your shipment number contains both letters and numbers, please go online to track.dhlparcel.co.uk and enter your shipment number and postcode.

If your wine arrives damaged... Although the utmost care is taken to get your wines to you in perfect condition, on occasion damages happen. If your order is damaged, contact us straight away on 0343 224 1001 and we will sort it out for you.

If your wine has not arrived... email help@virginwines.co.uk or call us on 0343 224 1001 and we will get to the bottom of why your wine is tardy.

If your driver did a particularly good job, please let us know your comments by emailing gooddriver@virginwines.co.uk. There could be a deserving reward in it for the driver, so we would love to hear your feedback. These comments also help to continuously build a more efficient delivery system.

Unfortunately we cannot offer a delivery service to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Scottish Highlands over the weekend. Orders to these areas that are placed after 4pm Thursday through to 4pm Saturday will not go out for delivery until the next week depending on your postcode. Please give us a call for further clarity if this may impact your order.
