The Winemaker The Winemaker
Serge Forcato
In 1850, Angelo Forcato purchased the estate, marking the beginning of the family’s winemaking legacy. From 1960, Angelo's son Aron and his grandsons expanded and modernised the property, all the while honouring the traditional winemaking practices of Bordeaux. Today, Serge Forcato represents the latest generation to lead the estate and works closely with his son David. Since the early 1990s, Serge and his wife Sylvie have been producing wines under the Château Lary Lacombe name, located in the municipality of Saint Michel-de-Lapujade. They continue to build on the rich legacy of their ancestors, introducing modern innovations such as sustainable vineyard practices.
"The harvest from these plots is always harvested later due to the dominant grape varieties. Controlling phenolic maturity (tannins and anthocyanins) allows for the harvest of ripe and healthy grapes. The meticulous and careful vinification gives this red wine depth, suppleness and length in the mouth. The floral nose predominates in its youth and later evolves towards more complex aromas of a Grand Vin de Bordeaux." - Serge Forcato, Winemaker.
