Region:California - Sonoma
Sourced from hillside vineyards just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean, Amici Sonoma Coast Chardonnay perfectly captures the magic of the Sonoma Coast terroir. The region's hot days, cool nights and refreshing ocean breezes create ideal conditions for crafting exceptional Chardonnay. Barrel-fermented and aged sur lees for 10 months in a mix of new and old French oak, this wine reveals vibrant aromas of lemon peel, ripe peach, honeydew melon, and a delicate hint of sea spray. On the palate, flavours of key lime pie, roasted hazelnut, and elegant minerality are beautifully balanced by crisp, precise acidity, all framed by warm toasty oak that lingers gracefully into the finish.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Tony Biagi
Anthony "Tony" Biagi is a fifth-generation Northern Californian winemaker with over 25 years of experience crafting exceptional wines. A UC Davis graduate, Tony has held pivotal roles at renowned wineries like Duckhorn Vineyards, PlumpJack, and Hourglass. In 2015, Tony became the winemaker for Amici Cellars. His method of small-batch winemaking remains the same - separately ferment and age individual vineyard blocks to create the best possible expression of each vineyard, each year. Today he's widely recognised for creating elegantly balanced, terroir-driven wines, and was named Winemaker of the Year in 2020 by Antonio Galloni of Vinous.
"The 2023 harvest in Sonoma County will go down in history as a legendary growing season. Early rains were followed by a mild spring and summer. Harvest began in September and progressed steadily. The overall quality of the 2023 vintage is incredible, with concentrated flavours and great freshness." - Tony Biagi, Winemaker.
