The Wine The Wine
Argentina
Region:Mendoza - Uco Valley
Step into the renowned Uco Valley and savour this exceptional Viognier from Familia Zuccardi, the trailblazers who first introduced the variety to Argentina in 1995 with vines brought from France. A symphony of ripe apricots, crisp pear, zesty lemons and velvety peaches, this wine is lifted by a whisper of honeysuckle and a surprising hint of salty sea air. Fermented in stainless steel to preserve its pristine character, it embodies the fresh elegance born of the Uco Valley's unique terroir: high altitudes, long sunny days, stony soils, and pure Andean irrigation. Pure, fresh, and perfectly balanced, this Viognier dances across the palate with grace and lingers like a fond memory.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Sebastián Zuccardi
Sebastián Zuccardi, a third-generation winemaker, is recognised globally as one of Argentina's top producers. A graduate in Agricultural Engineering from the National University of Cuyo, Sebastián refined his winemaking philosophy through experiences in wine regions across the United States, France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. His approach centres on achieving identity through terroir and, as his understanding of the vineyards deepened, he realised that excessive oak was masking the grapes' natural character. Today, he prioritises the fruit's freshness and purity, continuing the legacy of his grandfather, Alberto 'Tito' Zuccardi, and father, José Zuccardi.
"This is a greenish yellow colour Viognier full of tropical notes combined with flowers and ripe fruits such as rose, green apple and pear. All the grapes are grown in the Uco Valley region, benefiting from the perfect combination of altitude and stony soils with large rock deposits, which give the wine a rich texture, freshness, excellent balance and mineral notes." - Sebastián Zuccardi, Winemaker.
