Argentina
Region:Mendoza - Uco Valley
In 2022, Wine Enthusiast named Zuccardi Valle de Uco "New World Winery of the Year" and The World's Best Vineyards honoured it as the "Best Vineyard in the World" for three consecutive years (2019-2021), inducting it into their Hall of Fame. So, when we say that Malbec lovers are in good hands with Sebastián Zuccardi, we're not exaggerating. This bespoke Virgin Wines blend comes from grapes grown on high-altitude, alluvial soils in Valle de Uco (1000m-1100m above sea level), and delivers a powerful, intense red wine. With damson, blueberry, coconut, liquorice, and toasty oak notes, it's ideal for both Malbec enthusiasts and lovers of bold reds.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Sebastián Zuccardi
Sebastián Zuccardi, a third-generation winemaker, is recognised globally as one of Argentina's top producers. A graduate in Agricultural Engineering from the National University of Cuyo, Sebastián refined his winemaking philosophy through experiences in wine regions across the United States, France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. His approach centres on achieving identity through terroir and, as his understanding of the vineyards deepened, he realised that excessive oak was masking the grapes' natural character. Today, he prioritises the fruit's freshness and purity, continuing the legacy of his grandfather, Alberto 'Tito' Zuccardi, and father, José Zuccardi.
"Our idea is to represent the best areas of the Uco Valley through this line. We use grapes from different locations within the Uco Valley, preferably from the higher-altitude zones. The vinification takes place in concrete vessels, and the wine is aged in used French oak barrels for 6 to 8 months. The objective is to represent the purity and freshness of the region." - Sebastián Zuccardi, Winemaker.
