The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Alsace

This third generation Alsace domain is now under the stewardship Alexandre, grandson of founder Robert, and his father Bernard Schoffit. Based near the heartbeat of the Alsace region Colmar, and focused on sustainable viticulture, with great respect and care for the terroir, their portfolio is one of the most engaging the region has to offer. This Pinot Blanc Auxerrois blend is a fabulous example and a gateway wine into their signature style that focuses on lovely ripeness, that is never overblown or taken too far, coupled with fabulous balance and finesse.

The Winemaker

Bernard & Roberts Schoffit
Winemaker:

Bernard & Roberts Schoffit

A cracking family-owned Alsace domaine, that is very highly regarded and one of the region's most consistent, crafting expressive, fruit-filled, and focussed wines vintage after vintage. A relatively young domaine, founded in 1973, and one that grew in stature when Bernard took over from his father, purchasing a Grand Cru vineyard that had long been abandoned. He turned this dilapidated site around and today releases a range of wines that are truly captivating with the Rangen de Thann Grand Cru wines a highlight of the portfolio.

"The nose shows apples, peaches and a variety of floral scents and its full-bodied weight and richness is harmoniously balanced with a vibrancy from the zesty acidity. The nose is great, but I find the palate simply delicious every time I go back to this cuvée." - Bernard & Roberts Schoffit, Winemakers.
