The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Alsace

Pinot Blanc is a variety that has yet to hit the big time, which makes it all that more exciting and mysterious. One of the rare grapes to still hold onto a bit of the unknown and one that has its roots firmly planted in the Alsace region of northeastern France. It is a great all-rounder, and we don’t want to do it a disservice by describing it as simple, but the honeydew melon fruit, light herbal notes, and a little mineral tension on the palate result in a truly easy-going wine, packed with appeal and charm.

The Winemaker

Daniel Gerold
Winemaker:

Daniel Gerold

Originating from Alsace, Daniel Gerold was introduced to wine by his father, which eventually inspired him to follow a path towards a career in the industry. After his winemaking studies, Daniel travelled across Burgundy, Champagne and New Zealand, gaining a wide-ranging knowledge of grape varieties, terroirs and techniques. In 2020, he headed back to the Alsace and started to work at Cave de Turckheim.

"A lively, pale golden colour in the glass with perfumed aromatics of peaches and citrus fruit. The touches of minerality and spice on the palate lead onto a dry, crisp finish that keeps me coming back for more. I hope it brings the same engagement and enjoyment it has for me, to you." - Daniel Gerold, Winemaker.
