The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Bordeaux - Margaux

Château Le Coteau is a wonderful example of the elegance of Margaux wines. The gravel soils produce a fine and stylish wine loaded with flavour. From a family-owned-and-managed estate, this wine gives a distinctly fruity nose with aromas of plum, violets, mocha and crushed gravel over subtle hints of oak. Velvety, dense and powerful in the mouth, yet there is also an elegance and delicacy about this red wine. Serve alongside beef wellington or a plethora of delicious cheeses.

The Winemaker

Eric Leglise
Winemaker:

Eric Leglise

Château Le Coteau is one of the last family estates from the prestigious Margaux appellation and has been in the family for 6 generations. Since 1973, winemaker and esteemed oenologist, Eric Leglise, has been in charge of the estate, working with both passion and humility. Aware of his ancestor’s work and the singularity of this terroir, Eric always applies methods which respect the environment.

"This is a true local's wine! The indiginous Vinhao grape, as well as the winemaking methods used, make a really traditional red that is aromatically pretty but very robust on the palate." - Eric Leglise, Winemaker.
