The Wine The Wine
France
Region:Languedoc
This wine is part of our Two Plus One series, wines that are created as much in the vineyard as they are in the winery. We carefully select parcels of grapes and, once vinified, take something already excellent and amplify it by adding one part of something truly exceptional. This release focuses on Viognier, using a small parcel of wine from the Narbonne area of the Languedoc for the base, which is vibrant and full of fresh apricot fruit, and adding a dash of an oaked parcel that adds weight, structure and richness.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Guillaume Letang
Winemaker Guillaume Létang could be said to have wine in his blood coming, as he does, from the north of Burgundy, near Chablis. After studying at Dijon University he started his career in 1998 in the Burgundy region, primarily in Maconnais and Beaujolais. With 8 years experience as a Cellar Master and 5 as Consultant Winemaker his knowledge and experience is in ever increasing demand.
"The nose is bright with some citrus fruit that, on the palate, sits below the richer stone fruit, giving freshness. The oak is well integrated, and the finish is long with a lovely nutty quality." - Guillaume Letang, Winemaker.
