The Wine The Wine
France
Region:Rhône - Côtes du Rhône
The vineyards are located in the extreme southwest of the Rhône Valley, right next to the Nîmes region beyond Tavel. The vines are terraced and north facing, which is important in this warm sunny part of the world, giving less intense sunshine, especially in the evenings. You'll find lots of fresh stone fruit character in this Rhône white, it's not heavy at all and made in a lovely crunchy style with gentle floral notes that last long into the finish.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Guillaume Gonnet
Guillaume Gonnet is a 3rd generation winemaker who took ownership if the family estate in Châteauneuf back in 2006. Prior to this he gained invaluable experience working at some of the world's finest wineries, covering renowned regions like Bordeaux, Burgundy and Napa to name a few! He now runs the estate with his wife Kelly and produces a range if terroir driven wines that capture the unique climate this prestigious part of France's Rhône Valley.
"I am always conscious when making our white wines to keep freshness at their core and not to tip into more unctuous characters. These can develop with a bit of time in bottle, but in youth I want them to be super refreshing and drinkable. Look for yellow grapefruit, white floral notes with nice acidity and minerality in the mouth." - Guillaume Gonnet, Winemaker.
