This family firm, headed up by Jean Chauvenet, produces a range of exceptional wines, but this 1er Cru bottling from the les Vaucrains is a real stand out and much followed. When at its best it can age for 20 years or more without any trouble thanks to the depth of fruit concentration and inherent power, both coupled with natural freshness and well-matched oak. A dense and robust Nuits-Saint-George that is layered with black fruit, game and earthiness. The palate is muscular and broad with a force of dark fruit before it finishes with structured oak and mineral freshness.
