I think this is a wine that gives us a glimpse to the future of what we can come to expect on a more regular basis. This higher altitude region sits above the Côtes de Nuits in Burgundy and is starting to garner the attention of notable producers and Burgundian aficionados. As temperatures rise and more historic regions fight to control alcohol levels and with that balance, these lofty vineyards are giving winemakers the chance to make lighter, crisper Pinots that remind of vintages of yesteryear. An elegant red with depth of savoury cherry and redcurrant fruit and hints of green pepper.
