- There's lots to like about this wine. From the classic bubble-gum notes, into darker tones and a lovely purity that is totally captivating.
- You can enjoy this wine now, especially if you love the open fruitiness of great Beaujolais, however, it will evolve beautifully given some time.

The Wine The Wine
France
Region:Burgundy - Beaujolais
The wines from the Beaujolais Cru, Moulin-a-Vent, are noted for being the most age-worthy of the region, given their intense fruitiness and tannic structure. It is unsurprising that legendary Burgundian Domaine, A.F. Gros acquired a 3.8 hectare vineyard in Mortperay back in 2017. The vines are hand harvested and then three separate cuvées are made in the winery, before the finished wines are blended and bottled. One portion is stainless steel, a second placed in 5,000 litre oak foudre and the last is aged in traditional 228 litre barriques. Each impart different characters and complexities to the finished wine.

Domaine A.F. Gros was founded by Anne-Françoise Gros after having inherited a part of the vineyard from her father Jean Gros in 1988. Since the creation of Domaine A.F. Gros, the wines are vinified by Anne-Françoise's husband François Parent, originally from Pommard. Today the vineyard covers around 10 hectares made up of Anne-Françoise's share of Domaine Jean Gros, land bought or rented in and around Vosne-Romanée as well as her husband's share of Domaine Parent. Today, their daughter Caroline ensures the management and development as well as the marketing of the estate's wines and their son Mathias is in charge of the vinification.
"The aromas are very pronounced on this wine, and you'll find notes of red berries, cherries, rose petals, and orange. The palate is elegant, with super soft tannin, that almost melt in the mouth and a succulent core of fruit is mouth-coating before the wine concludes with a long smooth and balanced finish." - Mathias Gros, Winemaker.
