This is a cracker from a plot of seriously old Carignan vines planted in way back in 1903! The vines can be located in a cooler spot, which helps temper the warm Mediterranean climate. So, what does that mean for the finished wines? Well in the hands of a talented grower and winemaker like Pierre Escudie they exhibit wonderful freshness that sits alongside the naturally dark flavour characters that are so charming in old vine Carignan and allowing this bottling an extra dimension of luscious drinkability.

I'm very pleased to now tend our family vines in a sustainable way to ensure they are still here for the next generation. We have some especially old plots of vines that produce exceptionally concentrated parcels of fruit and I take great pride in seeing the fruit of these vines arriving at the winery every vintage.
"A wine of great intensity crafted from one of my favourite parts of the estate, from bush vine Carignan, an almost forgotten classic variety of Southern France. A wine with savoury flavours that are long lasting with a dry finish making it a good match for food which, as the best wines do, complement, not dominate." - Pierre Escudie, Winemaker.
