Louis Moreau Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons 2020

- A lively, pear and apple fruit led Chablis that is crafted, as the region dictates, exclusively from Chardonnay grapes.
- This wine is still youthful and, with that, exceptionally vibrant. However, it will gain richness with a couple of years on its side.
- You can pair this classy white with a wide variety of dishes, but grilled prawns with a fresh ginger, chilli and coriander dressing is epic.

The Wine The Wine
France
Region:Burgundy - Chablis
At 129 hectares, Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons is one of the largest and sits on the left bank of the river Serein. The name translates to 'little valley' and the region has a south and east exposure, so enjoys mainly early morning sunshine, and the shallow limestone rich soil allows the grapes to ripen, quite easily, even in the cooler less sunny vintages. We love this area of Chablis, and this is a classic with notes of white fruit, plenty of orchard fruit and a liveliness that is captivating. It is the perfect combination of minerality, fruitiness and elegance.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Louis Moreau
Anchored in the Chablis soil for six generations, the Moreau family is today one of the most highly esteemed wine proprietors thanks to their quality wines from vineyards in the most prestigious appellations. No oak is used in their wine, either during vinification or in ageing, so is a typical example of a quality Chablis Premier Cru.
"I really like the directness of this wine. Marked by obvious notes of ripe pears and crisp green apples it is a wine that can be served chilled, not too cold, with your shellfish dishes." - Louis Moreau, Winemaker.
