Region:Bordeaux - Bordeaux AOC
You might associate Bordeaux with red wines, but their sparkling wines are worth uncovering; much rarer, but equally as fine. This Crémant is crafted by a small family grower, made in the same way as Champagne, but uses the local grape varieties of Merlot, Sémillon and Muscadelle. It is aged in cellars for up to 24 months before release, where during this time it acquires a new, richer character for you to enjoy and savour. Julien Barthazac Crémant de Bordeaux is brilliantly versatile as it will charm the palate with seafood starters, or desserts such as a lemon tart.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Bordeaux Families
Back in 1934, 126 winegrowers joined forces to create the Cave Intercommunale de Sauveterre-de-Guyenne. The union now includes 300 families that, above all, consider themselves as such. This is why they chose to rename the company "Bordeaux Families", like the many grapes of a single cluster. Bordeaux Families aim is simple and comprehensive: produce wines from the vineyard to the cellar. Most of the Bordeaux Families vines are found in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards, nestled between the right bank of the Garonne to the south, and the left bank of the Dordogne to the north.
"This wine is gently sparkling and its gold colour is lightened by shades of green. The nose is subtle and discrete whilst the palate is supple, fresh and light." - Bordeaux Families, Winemakers.
