The Wine

Country of origin:

Spain

Region:

Ribera del Duero

From Pesquera de Duero, a historic town renowned for its rich history of creating balanced and fruity red wines, the Moro brothers have added their individual flair to the classic Ribera del Duero. José and Javier Moro, the third generation of the Emilio Moro estate, believe their wine has a life of its own and with each vintage a part of them is immortalised in it. Therefore, this red is a true reflection of the variety and terroir showing the care and attention that they invest in each vintage. This results in a deep wine, with notes of roasted black cherry and smoky oak. A rich and indulgent treat for all occasions.

The Winemaker

Jose and Javier Moro
Winemaker:

José and Javier Moro

"Wine is an art. If you know how to listen, it speaks to you, it lets you know when it needs racking and rest. It's just like a living creature that we have to understand, tend to and care for." So said Emilio Moro, founder of the estate. Three generations later this belief is still upheld by José and Javier Moro. Eschewing traditional notions of classification like Crianza and Reserva, the family were eager to create wines with personality and individuality. Expressions true to their vineyards and their family's heritage.

"We have been making this wine since 1998 and we are proud of how we have developed this wine with experience over each vintage. By using French and American oak barrels, we have created a powerful and balanced wine displaying the variety and terroir to its full potential." - José and Javier Moro, Winemakers.

Customer ratings

Have said this so many times - a fantastic wine, never fails to please, and complements steaks, roasts and a rich ragu...always enjoyed by family and guests.

It's likely going to be very good, but it's still a bit young. But it's a fine Ribera with a depth and intensity you might pay a lot more for.
