For this premium quality Pinot Noir, Guy Andrieu and Kim Tidy refined the selection of parcels from their own vignerons' vineyards around Limoux. As the growing season progressed, they limited the selection of grapes to those situated in the cool and more temperate zones that are the best suited to this grape. The final cut of fruit was then harvested in the cool half-light of twighlight when they had achieved the perfect balance of between optimal fruit ripeness and phenolic maturity. As a result, this wine is imbued with true Pinot Noir character and finesse.

Guy Andrieu and Kim Tidy
Kim made his first vintage of Pinot Noir in Limoux with Guy Andrieu in the 2007 vintage and they have been making wines together ever since. Back then the vines were only 10 or so years old. Now they're truly 'vieilles vignes' in their prime at 25 or more years; and so now our Pénombre Réserve Tête de Cuvée Pinot Noir is a more complex wine, whilst retaining that immediate appeal of the gentle fruit of the Pinot Noir grape.
