The Wine The Wine

This cuvée comes from Cravant les Coteaux - a small, enclosed valley five kilometres to the east of Chinon town. The Cabernet Franc vines grow on clay-limestone soil, which gives this wine a supreme elegance. These mature vines (each one between 20 and 35 years old) are carefully tended using sustainable vineyard practices, and when perfectly ripe, the grapes are carefully hand-picked. Once fermented, the wine is bottled without any oak contact in order to keep all its finesse.

Fabrice Delalande
Fabrice Delalande is the sixth generation of Delalandes to work his family's vineyards in Chinon and the third generation to live in a farmhouse among the vines. He joined his father in 1989 and at that point the family decided to begin bottling their own wine instead of selling only to négociants.
"On the nose, ripe and fresh cherry and blueberry fruit marries violet flowers, exotic spices, liquorice and graphite. In the mouth, we immediately detect a voluptuous substance well built around soft tannins. On the palate, the aromatic spectrum is already wide open, with accents of wild strawberries and blackberries matched with wet leather, chopped ginger, sage and menthol on the finish." - Fabrice Delalande, Winemaker.
