Black Flag is a collaboration between Virgin Wines and Steve Grimley. Steve uses his contacts and expertise over in Oz to create these micro batch, innovative and delicious wines. So, when he said he could get hold of a premium Mount Gambier Sauvignon Blanc for this project we jumped at the chance! The vineyards are situated on the gentle slopes of a dormant volcano with a limestone rich subsoil. And as Mount Gambier is the southernmost region in the Limestone Coast, the grapes are cooled by sea breezes. All of this is a recipe for superb Sauvignon!

"This Sauvignon is dry and crisp, getting better with every sip, on song. We wanted it to have heaps of drinkability but not at the expense of varietal, regional and vintage characteristics. The aromas are super green, I could line them all up, but I'd say Snow Peas for sure. In the mouth it's quite textural, although there is sweetness in the fruit which belies the aromas." - Steve Grimley, Winemaker.
