The Wine

Country of origin:

Italy

Region:

Veneto

The Garganega grape is renowned for making exceptional white wines in Veneto, such as Soave, but here in L'Ornato Bianco it partners with a small proportion of noble Chardonnay to excite your tastebuds. Winemakers Maurizio and Martino Biscardo, brothers from a family with over 150 years of winemaking experience, have skilfully created this white from some of their old vines. The wine has a delicate nose with floral notes and hints of citrus and yellow orchard fruits. In the mouth it is fresh, mineral and very well structured with a beautifully deft balance.

The Winemaker

Maurizio Biscardo
Winemaker:

Maurizio Biscardo

The Biscardo Family have been making wine for over 150 years and the operations are currently led by brothers Maurizio and Martino Biscardo. During the course of Maurizio's long and illustrious career, he has consulted for well known wineries around Italy.

"The vineyards are located on a medium-textured soil, which is a balanced miscellany of clay, sand and silt. Fermentation lasts 15 days in steel tanks at a cool controlled temperature. The ageing of the wine is prolonged, leaving the wine to rest on the noble lees for about five months in stainless steel tanks." - Maurizio Biscardo, Winemaker.
