The French have long been adding a little white, including Viognier and Roussanne, to their Shiraz in Châteauneuf-du-Pape to create complex and age-worthy wines. So we knew that Steve Grimley wasn't going mad when he suggested this blend for The 5OS Project using prestige fruit. Made from 91% McLaren Vale Shiraz with 9% of Roussanne slipped in for good measure it's certainly expressive! Lovely inky aromatics of real dark fruit entwined with black olives and soothing vanilla oak. The palate is ripe, soft and generous without being overblown.

The winery, located in the heart of the McLaren Vale, is where the team, headed up by Steve Grimley, focus on crafting truly unique wines on a very small scale. Sometimes just a few hundred bottles, so be prepared for small moments of disappointment when something sells out. We say small moments because the range will always have interesting backups for you to go at. The wines in bottle will wow you with their intensity and character and the packaging is nothing short of incredible, often adapted from artwork produced by talented local artists. To sum it up, the 5OS Project is an ever-evolving collection of wine releases, hand-crafted by a team of incredibly talented, elite individuals.

It was co-fermented in 2 ton opens for approximately 10 days which other than combining a red and white variety, is all pretty straight forward.
