The Wine The Wine
Chile
Region:Valle Central
Astro Costero (meaning coastal star) is crafted from perfectly ripe grapes grown in the heart of Chile's Central Valley around Casablanca. This region has near perfect conditions for viticulture - long sunny days and just enough rainfall. Sauvignon Gris (Sauvignon Blanc's pink-skinned cousin) has become a bit of a Chilean speciality of this region. Its popularity in Chile is largely due to the richer, more voluptuous style of wine which this grape produces, with tropical fruit, citrus freshness and a lightly herbaceous character.
