Rheinhessen is moving in a very exciting direction. Many old bulk wineries have been resurrected by the new generation who are switching their production from bulk to quality. It's a region with great soil too, which provides the foundations of a quality wine. Gunderloch are blessed with red slate soils in their vineyards which comes through in the wine by way of richness of fruit but balanced by a steely mineral texture. Makes for a pretty tasty beverage.
