However there are a select number of smaller sites on its northern border - referred to as Saint-Émilion satellites - which offer similar quality at more affordable prices. The vineyards of Château Macquin are located on a south facing hilltop. The elevation and chalky-clay terroir means that this wine has the concentration and complexity more often associated with the Grand Crus of Saint-Émilion.
