This summer our South American Wine Buyer, Alex Davies, ventured out to Chile to see Germán at Perez Cruz. We have known for some time that their Cabernet Sauvignon is nothing short of exceptional, but Germán wanted to show him something he'd, until recently, been keeping under wraps: an incredible parcel of a Cabernet Franc. These two grape varieties are famously blended together in Bordeaux, as the rich, dark fruited Cabernet Sauvignon is complemented by the herbaceous Cabernet Franc. So as Cabernet Sauvignon is Germán's forte they knocked up this superb blend together.
