Alain Burguet is a real jewel in the Burgundian crown. He's been in amongst the vines since the 60s and his decades of experience shine through in his wines. For a big man that wouldn't look out of place in the front row of a rugby team, he has a very light touch. There's a broadness to his wines that comes from a short amount of extra ripening pre-harvest, but he maintains the acidity and freshness that gives an all-round wine that has attractive, forward and appealing fruit but with an intense and tight expressiveness on the palate akin to something harvested earlier but without the greenness and astringency. In summary, bang on the money!
