Billaud-Simon is a superb Domaine, producing truly exciting wines. Wines that are very attractive in their youth but can handle many years in bottle, ageing with exceptional grace. They have some incredible vineyard sites in the world's most famous Chardonnay region, we are of course in Chablis! The Grand Crus, which are the best vineyards in the region, have superb depth and richness. This is about as top-end as you can get, wonderful pear and apricot nose which opens up as it breaths and a palate of peach combined with fresh citrus zest. The Billaud-Simon domaine has had great success due to their collection of first class vineyards, access to the latest winemaking technology and decades of family knowledge passed down by one generation to the next. The estate was established in 1815 and the ambition is to produce wines that give the most accurate rendering of the soil and lie of the land.
