There's a lovely gentle ripeness to this wine with plenty of red fruit character and a more serious note of crushed rocks. Winemaker Felipe Marin hails the long slow ripening and the limestone rich soils as the two key factors of influence in the finished wine. He aims to make wines with great intensity, purity and the ability to age gracefully. The use of old oak barrels adds a little earth and spice, rounding the palate off perfectly. Most definitely a food wine and a versatile one too. It will work well with roasted duck, pan fried duck breasts or herby roast pork tenderloin.
