The Wine The Wine
Spain
Region:Cariñena
This is rosé just how we like it. The use of quality Garnacha, from high altitude vineyards, with the colour and flavour gently extracted in the winery makes for a wine with an abundance of pretty red summer fruits with a delicate and easy texture. It's one that has the natural ripeness to balance the spices of Asian food, and the ease that puts it right at home on a summer's afternoon.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Alvaro Campos
Álvaro Campos is the new winemaker at Bodegas Paniza, bringing a fresh perspective and innovative ideas and a solid track record in Spanish wine production. Despite his youth, he has garnered significant experience, working in various wine regions around his hometown in Valencia, including DO Valencia, DO Alicante, DO Utiel-Requena, and DO Manchuela. His versatility and expertise have seen him excel in both small, family-run wineries and larger operations, culminating in his current role at Bodegas Paniza. Here, he leverages his deep knowledge of grape varieties like Garnacha, Syrah, and Viura. Mentored by esteemed winemakers like Pedro Cárcel, Álvaro embodies the new wave of Spanish winemaking talent that has already made a significant mark on the industry.
"This is a slightly more delicate rosé style than usual. But it still has all the ripe strawberry and raspberry fruit that can make rosé so appealing to drink on its own as well as with food." - Alvaro Campos, Winemaker.
