There's plenty of blackcurrant fruit on the nose of this Gold Medal Winning red. The palate is wonderfully juicy with subtly compelling layers of spice and just a nod of classic leathery Bordeaux allure. Winemaker Cyril Abela has made a seamlessly balanced wine from three of Bordeaux's mainstay varieties - Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Bringing their individual characters together is a real skill and even more so in an area vintage variation. This is a cracker.
