The Wine

Country of origin:

Australia

Region:

Barossa Valley

The premium Barossa Valley region is a heavy-weight when it comes to producing jaw dropping, full-throttle Shiraz. Pullhams Bin 22 is an absolute classic in this style, crafted by one of Australia's most decorated estates, right in the heart of the region. This single vat of wine was uncovered by our team on the round and blew the socks of the competition in a recent Buying Team tasting. It's a highlight of all the 2022 vintage wines we've tasted and showcases what we've come to love about the Barossa Valley. An intense nose of black cherry and cassis with fresh raspberry leading onto a lush palate of spicy plum, kirsch and cocoa. Absolutely bonza with charred steak!

Sometimes we can't tell you who the actual winemaker is. The usual reason for this is that they make expensive wine under their own name and they don't want the world to know they're also supplying their wine much cheaper under a different label. Why do they do this? Either they need an injection of cashflow or they've produced too much and don't want to swamp the market and cheapen their brand (or maybe we've just been able to sweet-talk them into doing us a favour).
