Who is Angelo Gaja? Only one of the most remarkable winemakers in Italy! Responsible for some of their most celebrated bottles, his wines offer characteristics of power with sophisticated elegance. This is his entry-level wine, a nod to a younger-drinking style. Lighter and juicier than his top stuff - still utterly brilliant. Enjoy sweet dark fruits on the nose with tobacco and exotic spice. On the palate, rich, dark flavours are balanced by silky smooth tannins with an elegant, spicy note on the finish.

Angelo Gaja
The Winemaker
Angelo Gaja, owner and president of the Gaja Winery, is a fourth-generation Piedmontese winemaker. Internationally acknowledged as one of Italy's and the world's greatest winemakers, he has been responsible for bold innovations in the vineyards and the cellars. Among his innovations in Piedmontese winemaking are the use of barriques (225-liter French oak barrels) for aging wines.
"A fruity, elegant taste; good balance in the mouth and a fresh fruity finish with very fine, silky tannins. Each variety is fermented separately on the skins in stainless steel tanks before being combined. There followed 18 months in barriques followed by at least 9 months of bottle aging." Angelo Gaja, Winemaker.
