Region:Valencia
Little, ancient, multi-talented Muscat has slipped out of the limelight and gains little or no attention these days. But a good glass of chilled Muscat, or Moscatel in Spain, is one of the most refreshing drinks out there! Amatista is a cheeky semi-sparkling rosé from Valencia, (where we source one of our top-rated Gran Reserva) and has been a massive hit with locals. Light in alcohol, a little sparkle, smacks of sweetness and crammed with red berry fruit. Chill and prepare for serious refreshment!
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Fernando Tarin
Fernando was born in the village of Cheste, were he has worked all his life. "My grandfather use to have what we call today a 'garage cellar' where he use to produce the wine of his own plots, therefore I have seen winemaking since I can remember." He started working in the Cheste winery in 1989 and he has devoted all his career to that winery.
"Working with the biggest producer of Muscat in Spain for 25 years makes you love or hate a variety and I love muscatel". Fernando Tarin, Winemaker. After 25 years of experience in the cellar working with Muscat, Fernando has become one of the top Muscat winemakers in the world "el brujo del muscatel"
