The Wine The Wine
Argentina
Region:Mendoza
This is a super premium Argentinian red that has been skilfully produced and blended. The blend consists of 50% Malbec 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% of each Merlot and Syrah, the resulting wine is complex and powerful with the potential to age for a number of years. The aroma is laden with blackberries, herbs, spice, earth and concentrated sweet vanilla from the time spent in French and American Oak. In the mouth it is full and rich yet there is plenty of finesse.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Walter Bressia
At the beginning of 2003, together with my wife and children, I began a family enterprise under the concept of 'Family Wines', which was the result of my long experience as a winemaker in the domestic and International markets. It is a small project whose principal goal is the limited and personal sale of small batches of wine of the highest quality. Each bottle is unique, so one can enjoy the pleasure offered by the uniqueness of each vintage.
"Profundo started in Argentina the era of the 'Assemblages'- wines from various grapes combined in different proportions, achieving a singular, complete wine with great definition. The varieties that it is comprised of are Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, produced in the department of Luján de Cuyo, then spending 10 months in French and American oak barrels. Profundo was then aged in bottle in our cave for 12 months to shape and refine its tannins, for true enjoyment of this elegant, unctuous wine with a long and memorable finish." - Walter Bressia, Winemaker.
