South Australia's McLaren Vale sources truly premium fruit. We've championed the wines from here for a many years and always get first dibs on the best parcels. When our winemaker, Steve, was offered this parcel, he recognised that it was the best fruit he'd seen in years and produced a wine that sat above our all-time-favourite Aussie red - The Black Pig! It has a depth of black fruit that is incredible alongside intense spice and a full-bodied style that screams out for grilled meats of all kinds, although its status as a vegan-friendly wine makes it a popular choice across the board.

There's no doubt a wine bottled in magnum format is impressive, but the wine inside it comes under even more scrutiny when it gets opened. Thanks to the quality of the winemaking on show and consistency vintage after vintage, you can open this up in totally confidence that its core of deep black fruit and unmistakable savoury spice won't let you down. It is great as a glass on its own or serve it alongside grilled meats of all kinds or a rich mushroom casserole.

De Martino Ladera Reserva 2023

'Ladera' means slope, as this wine takes its name from the south-facing angle of its vineyard. Bringing together two varieties - Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec - has resulted in a wine with concentration, balance and a wonderful purity of fruit the Ladera vineyard is famed for. Use of French oak was judged to perfection, not overshadowing the purity of fruit, but adding layers of complexity. This is pretty special. A spicy red and black berry-scented wine that'll mature gracefully over the years.

Silenus Limited Release Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

This is a limited-edition Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon which harnesses the trademark freshness and verve of this iconic region. The meticulous attention to detail, in both the vineyard and winery, yields beautiful intensity of fruit, showcasing mulberry and blackcurrant flavours, underpinned by hints of mocha and liquorice. A neo-classic that will age gracefully for ten years - this is Coonawarra at its best.

Castillo de Logrono Familia Manzanos Barrica Rioja Blanco 2021

This glorious white Rioja is made from a blend of Viura and Chardonnay grapes which are planted on calcareous soil (the terroir famous for producing top quality, long-lived whites in Burgundy and Champagne). Meticulous attention to detail was taken in the vineyard and then in the winery, culminating in 5 months in a mix of American and French oak barrels. The result is a white with plenty of vivacity, and rounded, rich flavours of butter, toast, nut, pear & baked red apples.
