The "LOTE" range are all followed by a number, not just selected at random, but chosen to highlight an important backstory about each wine. 96 represents the first vintage the De Martino family bottled and labelled a wine as a varietal Carménère, the first estate to do this in Chile, setting out their stall that Carménère should be championed for its unique characters and not hidden behind the popularity of Merlot. A mouth coating and juicy red which is very gastronomic and pairs well with pan fried duck breast.

This is the result of a wonderful opportunistic blending session, that was meant to deliver (and did) a premium, organic-in-conversion red. We saw such great elements of the white that we had to have a go; a go at making a bespoke Château du Seuil Virgin cuvée. This is a lovely, structured and textural Sauvignon Semillon blend that has a very classic feel as well as being viscerally fresh and exhilarating.

Grenache Blanc is one of the most exciting varieties out in the Cape and one that has a very bright future. This example is expertly crafted by one of our longest standing winemaking partners, Ryno Booysen, using carefully selected parcels of grapes form the coolest vineyard sites in the Western Cape. It is an exceptional example of this variety that is packed with fresh lime fruitiness that mingles with a little bell-pepper spice. The finish is crisp, refreshing and wonderfully long.
