Using Tempranillo as the main part of this blend was a great choice. It suits the shorter-term oak ageing perfectly, picking up the subtle vanilla and cinnamon notes from the barrel but without losing the fruit-forward and generously sweet strawberry character. A match made in heaven.

If you're looking for a typical red wine style of southern Italy, look no further. The Baciato Primitivo from Puglia quite simply is southern Italy in a glass. An aromatic and ripe red with dense bramble, plum jam and herbal aromas. The nutmeg notes on the finish complete this generously fruit-forward yet complex style.

Silenus Limited Release Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

This is a limited-edition Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon which harnesses the trademark freshness and verve of this iconic region. The meticulous attention to detail, in both the vineyard and winery, yields beautiful intensity of fruit, showcasing mulberry and blackcurrant flavours, underpinned by hints of mocha and liquorice. A neo-classic that will age gracefully for ten years - this is Coonawarra at its best.

Wild Elevation Malbec 2023

This wine comes from some of the highest-altitude vineyards in Mendoza at over 1000m above sea level. The quality of the grapes is elevated by the cooler temperatures, which balance the intensity of the sunshine and create a long ripening period. The resulting wines have an alluring combination power and finesse, making this a very special bottle of Malbec indeed.

Coastal Alvarinho from Portugal is becoming a firm favourite at VW. Though the grape variety has found fame in recent years from Spain's Galicia just north of the border, it's the sites along the Portuguese coast that are really starting to produce excellent quality and varietal expression at a lower price. Brisa Branca has all the trademark Alvarinho characteristics - an abundance of citrus fruit with a subtle tropical twist and a salinity on the palate that both refreshes and pairs incredibly well with all seafood dishes.

T918 Single Site Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Wine may be considered art by many, but it's the science behind each particular vineyard that shapes the character of the finished wine: location; climate, soil plus that little enigmatic something that the French call "terroir". This Sauvignon Blanc hails from a fine single site in a unique desert-influenced location, where searing sun coaxes the grapes to perfect ripeness, whilst cooling breezes provide welcome coolness, imbuing the fruit with great depth of flavour. It shows tight and bright tropical fruit but remains restrained and controlled with a lovely refreshing edge to it. A singular expression of a unique and special place.

Two Plus One Languedoc Viognier 2023

This wine is part of our Two Plus One series, wines that are created as much in the vineyard as they are in the winery. We carefully select parcels of grapes and, once vinified, take something already excellent and amplify it by adding one part of something truly exceptional. This release focuses on Viognier, using a small parcel of wine from the Narbonne area of the Languedoc for the base, which is vibrant and full of fresh apricot fruit, and adding a dash of an oaked parcel that adds weight, structure and richness.

Nestled within the vineyards of the Coastal Region of South Africa comes this wonderfully ripe and fruity parcel of Chenin Blanc. The Mediterranean climate of the region allows this signature South African white variety to thrive. Warm, sunny days are Chenin Blanc’s best friend and produce wine with an abundance of stone fruit and pear, complemented by a mineral edge. Great enjoyed chilled on its own or with creamy mushroom pasta.
