The latest stunning creation from Germán and his team, fast becoming Chilean masters of the grape. There is a depth of fruit on the nose with the flavours all playing a black card - blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherries are all distinctly noticeable. With layers of vanilla spice and hints of mint mingle with the delicious, ripe black fruit, it's no wonder this vegan wine is so renowned. Everything is wrapped in a blanket of silky tannins. Echoes of the Bordeaux style, but with the thumping, fruit core only the best New World winemakers can produce.

For years Virgin Wines customers have loved the Perez Cruz reds, packed with intense dark berry fruits and lots of oak. So, when winemaker Germán Lyon told us that he had created a rosé, designed to quench one's thirst in the summer months, we did a double take! Inspired by the dry, pale pinks of Provence, here Germán has created a delicate rosé with pronounced aromatics of strawberry, cherry blossom, and raspberries. This fresh and ripe fruit is underpinned by mouth-watering acidity and nuances of crushed seashells and cracked pepper for complexity. This is a sophisticated and refined rosé, but most importantly it is enjoyable (as if we would expect anything less from Germán!).

For years Virgin Wines customers have loved the Perez Cruz wines, packed with intense dark berry fruits and lots of oak. And thanks to the great relationship that we have with winemaker Germán Lyon, he has given us a rare opportunity to get hold of this brand new wine - which is something a bit left field of their usual style. This Grenache has all the signature opulence you'd come to expect from a Perez Cruz red but it is dripping in red cherry and raspberry fruit with a hint of cracked pepper - and crucially there is no oak contact on this wine, making it incredibly juicy and pure. Germán told us that he wanted to show that Perez Cruz can deliver summertime drinking reds, and we think he's nailed it! This Grenache has been made in very small quantities (only 1000 cases were made - of which we snapped up 300) from prized vines in their Fundo Liguai de Huelquin vineyard, which deliver wines of great intensity.

Take the plummy juiciness of Merlot, the cassis fruitiness and tannic qualities of Cabernet Sauvignon and there you have it - Carménère. This limited-edition release is from the winemaking frontrunners in the Maipo Valley - Perez Cruz. It's a complex, elegant red, loaded with black fruit, earthy aromas and a well-defined spiciness. Bring on the curry - this is a top match!
