We’ve been working with the super-talented winemaker Jacques Theron for several harvests now, focusing on wonderfully fruit-forward wines crafted from top-class vineyards across the Cape. This multi-varietal red is expertly blended, combining black and red berry-filled Shiraz with dense, plummy Malbec, and a dash of dark, inky Touriga rounds everything off.

These high-altitude vineyards have a unique feature that many others cannot boast. It's not uncommon to hear the screech of an eagle that can be seen soaring above the vines, searching for prey. The altitude here gives a freshness to an otherwise dark-fruited Tempranillo with hints of chocolate and spice. It's an ideal red to drink on a cool evening, but stands up very well to stews and casseroles too.

The Pizo series is about expression of varietal character and, at over 650m above sea level in the foothills of the Iberian Mountains, this is a perfect spot for vines to show their true charm. The south-facing aspect ripens the grapes with ease but the altitude keeps freshness at the forefront of the wine. Pizo Garnacha Blanca has an elegant combination of citrus and white flower aromas with a subtle mineral background. On the palate it has characteristic herbal notes and sour pear. Do not hold back - this is a stunner.

Grenache Blanc is one of the most exciting varieties out in the Cape and one that has a very bright future. This example is expertly crafted by one of our longest standing winemaking partners, Ryno Booysen, using carefully selected parcels of grapes form the coolest vineyard sites in the Western Cape. It is an exceptional example of this variety that is packed with fresh lime fruitiness that mingles with a little bell-pepper spice. The finish is crisp, refreshing and wonderfully long.
