Winemaking in Portugal can be dated back to around the 5th century BC, but these days you might be forgiven for thinking that it is better known for Port rather than still table wines. However with a diverse climate and a new focus on modern winemaking techniques we're starting to see a lot more exciting wines like Casal Sobreiro Tinto hit our shores. This is a clever fellow and it will turn you on to modern Portuguese reds in a moment!
Vitalita Sangiovese 2023

Our search for a great value Sangiovese naturally took us straight to central Italy, but less predictable was unearthing a stunning small parcel of Merlot Ripasso that we couldn't turn down. After a few hours at the blending table, we discovered it was the perfect partner to the crisp and bright Sangiovese on show, too. Only 10% in the blend of this rich Merlot was enough to give the Sangiovese more depth and structure and, most importantly, really enticing fruit sweetness and a lovely, rounded mouthfeel. It remains true to typical Sangiovese varietal character, but with an even more moreish nature.
La Novena Garnacha 2023
- ABV: 14.5%
- Vintage: 2023
- Size: 75cl
-
Grape type:
Grenache / Garnacha -
Wine style:
Light Reds -
Winemaker:
Alvaro Campos -
Spain:
Cariñena -

La Novena ('the ninth') references the ninth parcel of Garnacha that completes the wine. Garnacha plantings in Cariñena are aplenty thanks to the grape's excellent suitability to the region. But however vast these plantings may be, there will always be little pockets with a slightly different microclimate or soil that changes the wine. These pockets, or 'parcels', can be brought in and vinified separately and then put back together based on taste, so you can ensure the wine that ends up in the glass ticks all the boxes.
Obra Maestra Verdejo Sauvignon Blanc 2023
- ABV: 11%
- Vintage: 2023
- Size: 75cl
-
Grape type:
Verdejo Blend -
Wine style:
Dry and Crisp Whites -
Winemaker:
Jorge Martinez -
Spain:
La Mancha -

Verdejo with Sauvignon Blanc has become a real go-to white blend in Spain in recent years. The marriage between the two grape styles is heavenly, with the moreish tropical richness of the Verdejo lifted by the citrus zing of Sauvignon Blanc. The extra seasoning here though comes from the limestone soils where these two vineyards sit, giving the wine a super refreshing mineral crunch that'll have you coming back for more.
Vitalita delle Venezie DOC Pinot Grigio 2023
- ABV: 11%
- Vintage: 2023
- Size: 75cl
-
Grape type:
Pinot Grigio -
Wine style:
Dry and Crisp Whites -
Winemaker:
Alberto Marchisio -
Italy:
Veneto -
At its best:

When you think of a classic Pinot Grigio, you think bright citrus and pear notes paired with a zingy freshness. Vitalita Pinot Grigio is the epitome of this style. Bursting with fresh notes of lemon, lime, pear and a hint of exotic fruit, it is a great example of the easy-going yet sophisticated Pinot Grigio from the Veneto region. It is best enjoyed chilled making it a crisp and refreshing tipple for all occasions.
Skipper's Cove Verdelho 2024
- ABV: 13%
- Vintage: 2024
- Size: 75cl
-
Grape type:
Verdelho -
Wine style:
Dry and Crisp Whites -
Winemaker:
Andréa Maxwell -
Australia:
South Australia -
At its best:

We’ve had a high-quality Verdelho from Australia in our range for many years now, and the repeat orders and solid ratings have made it a mainstay in the portfolio. This is a fantastic example - it's exceptionally crisp but is also full of juicy, ripe fruit that includes a nod towards the tropical. Everything is kept in check by a racy, lime edginess that allows for plenty of creativity when it comes to food matching. Always serve it nice and chilled to capture all of its vibrancy.
Curious Parallel Feteasca Regala 2023

Feteasca Regala -
Wine style:
Fruity Whites -
Winemaker:
Hartley Smithers -

As you walk through the rolling vineyards of the Cramele Recas estate, if you didn't know where you were you'd be convinced you were in Northern Rhône or any other "Classic" European wine producing region - and to a certain extent you are. Romania has a history of winemaking stretching back millennia. So, whilst you may not recognise the name of the region or the grape variety, you are in very safe hands with this beautifully proportioned white. It is aromatic with notes of apricot, peach and summer blossom of rose and honeysuckle. Yet despite these heady flavours the finish is clean, while the stone fruit lingers long into the finish.
