This is our Down Under version of the Italian classic that we are all very proud of here at head office. There's something very appealing about this wine style to a wine drinker with all kinds of preferences. It has a moreish cakey sweetness to the aromatics, but a seriousness too with some complex herbal notes on what is actually a ripe but dry and fresh palate. It's a great rack-filler, an easy-drinker, but very competent on the dinner table with all kinds of food. One to have a play around with!

As you walk through the rolling vineyards of the Cramele Recas estate, if you didn't know where you were you'd be convinced you were in Northern Rhône or any other "Classic" European wine producing region - and to a certain extent you are. Romania has a history of winemaking stretching back millennia. So, whilst you may not recognise the name of the region or the grape variety, you are in very safe hands with this beautifully proportioned white. It is aromatic with notes of apricot, peach and summer blossom of rose and honeysuckle. Yet despite these heady flavours the finish is clean, while the stone fruit lingers long into the finish.

El Zumbido ('the buzz') is a local nickname for the wind that whistles through the vines up in the hills of Cariñena. This wind is critical to the style of this Viura. Ripened well in the Spanish sun, the grapes develop lovely peach aromas backed up by pear. But it's the El Zumbido that keeps the wine from becoming overripe and sticky, delivering an integral freshness that completes a very moreish wine.
