Vignerons Catalanes, France
Vignerons Catalans calls the geological-tapestry at the heart of Roussillon home and are totally committed to producing wines that reflect every panel of that tapestry. They also happen to have some of the finest vineyards in the region at their disposal.
And the history that means many of the cultivars are perfectly matched to their terroirs, not an inconsiderable fact. Winemaker, Cedric Ragues, also loves a small batch ferment in the boutique part of their cellar, so they were a natural choice for finding our perfect sites.
Syrah Grenache 2022
The terroir on offer here is undeniable. A mix of altitude, schist and garrigues gives both freshness and aromatic complexity to this very pretty wine. It comes from two specific vineyard blocks that promote liveliness and balance in the wine. Bush vines at both sites hug the hillside and look to Canigou in the Pyrenees.
Expect lifted scents that hint at rose water and violets, with underlying black fruit weight, to give way to a juicy palate with plenty of fruit depth. The Grenache is an essential part of this blend giving a fleshiness and aroma that opens out the wine completely. It is medium-bodied with a lovely succulence and a persistent, rounded finish.
Our vines in Roussillon are uniquely positioned to produce wines of exceptional quality and character
