Not only does the Yoichi single malt have a great story, it tastes sensational as well! The distillery was founded by Masataka Taketsuru in 1934 after a 10 year contract came to an end at Suntory. The Yoichi distillery was established on the island of Hokkaido in 1934, a location Masataka carefully selected for its similarities to Scotland where he'd trained as a distiller. It's gently peated notes and core of citrus fruit remind of the fine Scotches produced on Islay, yet with a uniqueness of the origin from where it hails.
