Three childhood friends, John O'Connell, Ger McCarthy and Denis McCarthy came together in 2003 and decided to set up the West Cork Distillery. The early years, in fact the first decade, was far from glamorous with the guys distilling in a room, albeit a fairly large one, at the back of Denis's house! They moved into a new distillery in Skibbereen back in 2014 to cope with rising demand and they now distribute their extensive range of spirits to over 50 countries around the globe.
