Founded in 1794 by the Stevenson family, the Oban has a legacy and heritage surpassed by very few Scottish whisky producers. The distillery has never grown in size or, heaven forbid, moved and sits proudly just a couple of hundred feet from the sea. Oban is a Gaelic word which means 'little bay' and is a fitting name for this historic whisky outfit where the making of it has not changed or been altered since its inception in 1794!
