Miyagikyo is Nikka's second distillery and the location selected by founder Masataka Taketsuru contrasts the costal area of his original setup perfectly. It opened in 1969 in the mountains of Sendai, Japan and produces truly exceptional single malt whiskies. This blend contains some very old stocks, they don't say how old, but the depth of flavour and complexities of this bottling suggest towards the very early days of the distilleries opening. It is elegant, soft and incredibly fruity.
