The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 and was one of the first in Scotland to be legally licensed. Since its inception it has built a reputation for producing very fine single malts that draw on Scottish barley for exceptional 'new make' spirit and the ageing qualities of oak from North America and Spain respectively. The Macallan range has no added colouring to the finished whisky and reach their different hues from long ageing in hand selected premium casks.
