Born in 1872 in Santiago de Cuba, Matusalem craft a range of solera-aged rums (the same system used in the production of sherry) that are wonderfully rich and complex. Today their home is in the Dominican Republic, after moving their operation with the rise of the Castro revolution. The 23 Gran Reserva bottling is the flagship of their range. Mellowed by long ageing in old oak barrels to produce a sipping rum of exceptional character and complexity.
